Oregon’s premier search event, Searchfest, is going to be great, and if you’re traveling from out of town, there are now discounted rooms available for all attendees.

Hotel deLuxe has announced that they will extend a discounted group rate of $135+tax for non-smoking King deLuxe guestrooms on March 7, 2007 and we will honor the rate two days pre and post the event date as well.

Guests can call the hotel to make their reservations at 503-219-2094 or 866-895-2094 and will receive the discounted rate by referencing the SEMpdx group.

I’m guessing that the bar at deLuxe might be an interesting place to hang out night before…

The Tuesday night January 23rd networking meeting of SEMpdx was held at our usual hang out, the Hotel de luxe, and was a success by any standard.

Despite a lack of much publicity, turnout was great, and the participation was even greater, among those in attendance.

Lots of mingling and networking were enjoyed by all, and there was a stimulating 15 to 20 minute discussion about a few search related topics, including, Pay Per Click fraud, the supposed reopening of the Open Directory Project (DMOZ) and the strange goings on with the recent Yahoo update.

After a long SEMpdx board meeting yesterday in the offices of Anvil Media, the 2007 Searchfest date and location are firmly set…
